How
to Prepare and Ship Negatives |
||
| We
are honored to be chosen to convert your negatives into digital files.
We appreciate your trust in this very important process. |
||
| The Process: | First
we scan your images and create digital picture files, which we save to
a CD. These files are very similar to the files that a digital camera
creates and can be taken to any one-hour photo center (i.e. Walgreens, Wal-Mart, etc.) for standard 4 x 6 photographic prints. These files can be loaded onto a computer and viewed on screen there as well. If you have a Photo quality printer at home you can make your own prints. . |
|
| Once
we have completed scanning we can also create a Slideshow from your scanned
negatives. This slideshow will be written as a Playable DVD. This disk will
play in most modern DVD players, or computers with DVD drives. The DVD slideshow
can have music added to it, as well. These DVD disks can also be duplicated
so that everyone gets a copy. |
||
| Pricing: | The
Basic scan to a digital file is priced at $1.00 per image. This price
will allow us to scan the original, rotate and crop the resulting file
and perform color balancing to make the colors pleasing. We recommend
the Premium Scan if you have negatives that may be dirty or damaged –
or if you desire enlargements at a size greater that 4 x 6. In our experience
they will require additional manual processing to remove minor spots,
dirt and scratches. This Premium Scan is priced at $1.50 per image. The
CD can be duplicated by us to create copies – as many as you need
for $2.50 per disk. |
|
| DVD
slideshows are created from the scans; they include a basic music track
from our library, chapters and are priced at $40.00 for up to one hundred
images. Each additional block of fifty images is priced at $10.00. We can
use your music for a slight additional fee. Additional copies of any DVD
slideshow disk are $5.00 each. |
||
| Shipping: | Preparing
your materials for shipping: You may leave your negatives in their sleeves
or place them in envelopes if you wish. If you label the sleeves or envelopes
with the name and date of each event we will use that in the folders on
your CD and DVD slideshows. |
|
| For
additional security against damage from moisture, while in transit, place
the envelopes in a sealed plastic bag. Place all your envelopes or sleeves
in a USPS approved box; also include on a sheet of paper your name, address,
telephone and email information. Include
packing material (i.e. bubble wrap or Styrofoam peanuts for cushioning).
Seal the box. Address the box to: |

| Shipping address |
|
|
| We
suggest that you ship these materials by a service that provides a tracking
number. After you have shipped, please notify us via phone or email. We
will need to know basic information, such as, what was shipped, carrier,
estimated delivery date, and tracking number. |
||
| When
your materials arrive, we will open the box, inspect and inventory the
contents. We will create a work order with price, and scheduling information,
and contact you to review your order. After we receive your approval,
we will process your order. |
